A Moroccan Family Adventure

A FAMILY EXPLORATION OF MOROCCO, FROM CITY TO COAST

Suggested itinerary for a family…
Morocco invites families to discover the world together through taste, texture and the simple joy of exploring somewhere entirely new.

This journey brings the country’s highlights to the forefront from the first moment: Marrakesh’s lively souks and ornate palaces, the serene openness of the Agafay Desert, and Essaouira’s gentle surf and sea breeze. Each place offers something families will instinctively connect with.

We worry about the practicalities to ensure that transitions feel effortless, giving you time to enjoy what matters: cooking alongside local chefs, learning how a communal bakery feeds a neighbourhood, watching the horizon shift from gold to indigo, or helping children stand on their first surfboard. This is an adventure designed to broaden perspectives while keeping comfort close at hand.

DAYS ONE TO FOUR

Discover Marrakesh Together

Marrakesh opens with warm colour and rhythm: arched alleyways, market chatter, the glow of lanterns in shaded courtyards. With your private guide, the family moves through Bahia Palace, where carved cedar and mosaic detail tell centuries of stories. In the souks, spices, textiles and artisan workshops animate the day, while a visit to a communal bakery reveals how neighbourhoods gather around simple, everyday traditions.

The next morning’s cooking class brings everyone into the process whilst chopping herbs, folding spices and building flavour, before sitting down together for a meal you prepared as a family. A full day at leisure lets you choose your own rhythm: pool time, garden wanders, or exploring Marrakesh’s quieter corners.

Experience Desert Calm and Wide Horizons

After a leisurely breakfast, the scenery drifts into soft stone ridges and open sky. Arriving in the Agafay Desert, the family settles into a spacious tent with sweeping views of the rocky plains. Time by the pool offers welcome coolness, while optional camel rides create a playful, storybook moment for children. Sunset arrives slowly here with mint tea in hand and light shifting across the desert floor. Follow this with a traditional dinner served beneath a deep, star-filled sky.

Discover Essaouira’s Coastal Freedom

Leaving the desert, you travel west toward the Atlantic until Essaouira’s bright ramparts and fishing boats appear. Its harbour winds and relaxed pace make it a natural fit for families. Your first full day begins with a surf lesson on long, forgiving waves, ideal for beginners and energetic children. In the afternoon, a guided walk through the medina reveals Essaouira’s artistic heritage: woodcarvers, painters and musicians shaping a city once beloved by travellers and creatives.

Your final day is free. The options are gentle and varied: beach time, kite watching, a wander along the ramparts, or simply listening to the sea while the children play in the sand.
